Visit Penny’s

To visit like a local, there’s some things you need to know before your next visit to Penny’s Palapa in the Nanaimo Marina.

How to Get a Table

Reservations aren’t necessary. During non-peak times we can seat you right away. We take large party reservations during spring and fall (April, May, June, September, and October). During summer months, we recommend strolling down and adding your name to the waitlist, or sending someone ahead to do so.
Call (250) 753-2150 for special events, occasions, or large parties.

Take-Out Tacos

Since 2017 Penny’s Palapa has been offering a take-out window to get your taco fix on the fly. Perfect whether you’re on the move, or in a hurry. A great chance to grab a taco and chill for a few on the marina dock, or take it away to one of Nanaimo’s picnic hot spots. Check out our Taco Menu.

The tide in Nanaimo marina can be dramatic and awe-striking. Most summer evenings the tide is high, enhancing the view over Nanaimo’s harbour. Daytime summer tides are lower, and a great chance to spot the wide variety of marine life, that inhabits the intertidal zone.

Wheelchair accessibility is best at higher tides. Check today’s tide

Nanaimo Marina is a working harbour run by the Nanaimo Port Authority, offering overnight moorage and limited temporary moorage.
